Hiraoka Plum Festival (Hiraoka Park)

Late April into May (2026: April 25 to May 10; 2027 dates not yet announced)

The Hiraoka Plum Festival is held at Hiraoka Park in Kiyota Ward, Sapporo, where about 1,200 plum trees grow on a 6.5-hectare site. The Sapporo Tourism Association's 2026 notice lists a temporary shop selling plum soft-serve ice cream and guided plum grove tours on April 28 and April 30, with registration required. The park says plums in Sapporo usually flower in early May, around the same time as the cherry blossoms.

Access: Bus Shin 111 from Shin-Sapporo Station bus terminal to the Hiraoka 6-jo 4-chome stop, then about 5 minutes on foot to the plum garden; the park recommends public transport in plum season.
