Owara Kaze no Bon

Toyama's haunting wind festival in the small hillside town of Yatsuo. Dancers in deep straw hats move silently through cobbled lantern-lit streets to mournful kokyu strings. Considered one of Japan's most beautiful festivals by locals — almost no foreign tourists.

Kishiwada Danjiri Matsuri

One of Japan's most dangerous festivals — 4-ton wooden 'danjiri' floats are pulled through Kishiwada streets at full speed while acrobats stand on top. Serious accidents happen most years. Utterly thrilling to watch.

GREEN×EXPO 2027 (International Horticultural Expo, Yokohama)

GREEN×EXPO 2027 is an international horticultural expo held at the former Kamiseya Communication Facility in Yokohama from March 19 to September 26, 2027. The organisers describe it as an A1 class expo with the theme Scenery of the Future for Happiness, and say the opening will feature around 600 cherry trees of approximately 40 varieties. Entry requires a date and time reservation made through the official ticket site.
