初弘法是每月21日弘法大師緣日所舉辦的弘法市中,新年的第一場市集,在東寺境內舉行。境內約有1,000個攤位,販售骨董、盆栽、二手書與日常用品等。日本政府觀光局(JNTO)2025年的活動月曆標示為8:00至15:00。
