Amanohashidate Kyoto Sand Bar 2027: Japan's Three Great Views Complete Guide

Amanohashidate — 'Bridge to Heaven' — is a 3.6-kilometre sand bar covered in 8,000 pines across Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. Viewed from the hills either side with your head between your legs ('matanozoki') the sand bar appears to be a bridge rising into the sky — hence the name. One of Japan's three great views.
