修二会是每年3月1日至14日在奈良东大寺二月堂举行的法会。每晚都会在二月堂的舞台上挥动大型火把,称为「御松明」,并于3月13日凌晨1点30分左右进行「取水」仪式。东大寺的年度活动介绍中记载,此法会于752年在二月堂开始举行。
