佛生会又称花祭，于4月8日在东大寺庆祝释迦牟尼诞辰。据东大寺年中行事页面介绍，大佛殿约在8点至9点举行法会，之后参拜者可在大佛殿前设置的花御堂，用甜茶浇灌诞生佛像。寺方标示甜茶浇灌可进行到17点。
