太宰府天满宫位于太宰府市，从西铁福冈（天神）站乘西铁电车约35分钟，于菅原道真公忌日的2月25日举行梅花祭，神职人员会把梅花插在帽冠上。境内有约200个品种、6,000棵梅树。神木飞梅位于本殿右侧，神社表示每年春天最先开花，其他梅树依序接着绽放。
